Dazzling drum display

If I was to say that the following video clips below that I share with you, mesmerised me, it would certainly be an underestimation of what I am trying to say!

It would be an underestimation of what this lady unbelievable does with her fingers, hands and wrists when a drum (various types of drums by the way: Daf, Tonbak, Barbuka, Udu – Frame Drums) are presented to her.  The lady in question is Naghmeh Farahmand.

Naghmeh Farahmand is a Persian percussionist who comes from a musical family. She is the daughter of one of the leading percussion masters of Iran, Mahmoud Farahmand. Naghmeh grew up surrounded by music in a full house of drums.

Again, from the gift of a night of wonderful entertainment at Beit Zatoun House, the following video clips were very much anticipated by the vast majority of the crowd present on this night, after listening to what she does, I fully appreciate why there was so much anticipation to see and hear this marvelously skilled lady.

Her way of playing, in my personal opinion, is quite breathtaking, I was totally engaged every time she touched one of the drums.

If you are interested and fancy taking percussion lessons, her location is in Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Toronto.  For more information please do visit her website:
