Beaver Tails

BeaverTails and Queues de Castor are a Canadian-based chain of pastry stands operated by BeaverTails Canada Inc. The chain’s namesake product is a line of fried dough pastries, individually hand stretched to resemble a beaver’s tail.

The chain originated in Killaloe, Ontario in 1978 and opened its first permanent store in Ottawa two years later. It now has franchises and licenses in four countries: Canada, the United States, South Korea, and Japan.

The BeaverTails pastry is similar to several other fried dough pastries and is topped with a choice of sweet condiments and confections, such as whipped cream, banana slices, crumbled oreos, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate hazelnut.

If you have not tried BeaverTails, you must try, especially if you have a sweet tooth like me and you like the look of the toppings above, scrumptious is certainly one way of describing them!

Below is a fine example of how a Beaver Tail can be enjoyed, she was so engrossed (as you can see from her eyes) that she was oblivious of me in front of her.

Anybody agree with this saying?

Skiing on Mt Tremblant

Taking the ski lift up to the village was great, the kids absolutely loved it.  Arriving in the village you are welcomed by the hustle and bustle of skiers everywhere, adorning vibrant outfits, people of all ages and all abilities, and the fact that Mt Tremblant was dressed in stunning snow just made the whole place more spectacular. Drive to Mt Tremblant, Quebec

The next part of this road trip was to visit Mt Tremblant, a pretty and picturesque ski village about two hours north of Montreal.

These photos capture the gorgeous drive in incredibly chilly conditions towards Mt Tremblant.

I loved every time we drove past exquisite icicle formations caressing the cliff edges as we drove along.

It would have great to stop and picture some of them as I find them so amazing and unique, unfortunately stopping on the side is not allowed.

For those of you who are familiar with these scenes, you will recognise  the numerous ski paths that trickle down the various mountains.

One of the nicest things that snow creates in nature is the covering on tress, it is like a sprinkling of icing sugar that is delicately sieved over the trees.

Very short video of the drive…apologies for the little bit of screaming from the young one who clearly just wanted to get there!
