Toruk – The First Flight (Cirque-du-Soleil) part 2, the show

(PHOTOS AND VIDEOS)

I first heard about Cirque-du-Soleil (Circus of the Sun) back in 2001 when I first met my wife.  It came up in a discussion once and she showed me some videos of them performing, I was totally amazed at what they did and I remember making an intention that one day I would love to see them with my wife performing live, and not just watch them on a screen in front of me.  I didn’t think that one day I would actually be going to see them perform live and be writing a blog about it!

I did not know this, but Cirque-du-Soleil is apparently the largest theatrical producer in the world, this fact just made me realise just how lucky I was to see them perform live, and being in Canada made the whole experience just that little bit more special.

Cirque-du-Soleil are a  Canadian Entertainment Company, a fantastic group of people who instill awe and wonder within their onlookers.  This was an incredible scene, the effects of movement by the performers, the waterfalls, the way the stage ‘filled’ up with water, the boat gliding along and everything else was utterly superb, the way this played with the senses was at times  a bit mind boggling to say the least.

Throughout the performance, they keep your senses excitingly engaged, the lavish lighting continually changes, all sorts of things come down from the roof, plants grow and emerge out of the stage floor, different height levels are created, animals move in such a realistic and believable way, the gifted acrobatics of the team of performers leaves you spoilt for choice, and the girls favourite were the performers dangling from ropes, twisting and turning, swaying from side to side, wow, wow, wow!

The girls really loved this particular scene, they had lots of questions, a few to share with you were:

  • Baba, is that real?
  • Mama, will it eat us?
  • Are those people hurting its back?.

A beautiful , majestic and dazzling conclusion to the show, the lighting was great, there was so much to take in.  Our little wish came true to see Circque-du-Soleil live, absolutely fantastic and full respect and credit goes to the talented performers, gifted directors, the whole outfit actually, thank you for such an awesome experience.

We just had to take a selfie at the end of the show!  What a truly fantastic, stupendous and creative show, something we will remember for a long time to come, well worth it and would strongly recommend to anyone who wants to see a professional show that mesmerises you from start to finish.

It is just a amazing to know that this world renowned and reputable company was started back in 1984 by two street performers from Montreal, Quebec.  They know employ over 5,000 people and bring excellent entertainment pleasure to people worldwide with a revenue of over $850 million Canadian dollars, absolutely awesome.

An honest message from the heart…
